Employment & Training


FHSS has wide community contact and a small business focus. Hence we are looking for all types of personnel to fill the roles required.

Vacancies for employment, occur from time to time for either Carer or Cleaning positions.


Carers provide assistance to people in their own homes. The following six essential requirements are necessary for employment as a carer, by FHSS.

  1. Qualifications (one of):
    • Cert III Aged Care Work
    • Cert III Home and Community Care
    • Cert III Disability Work
    • Cert II Community Services (Children’s Services)
    • or willing to commence training for one of those qualifications.
  2. Senior First Aid Certificate
  3. Mobile Phone
  4. Registered Roadworthy Car
  5. Current Driver’s Licence
  6. Criminal History Check


Cleaners undertake Domestic Duties such as vacuuming, cooking, shopping, laundry and ironing. The following four essential requirements are necessary for employment as a carer, by FHSS.

  1. Mobile Phone
  2. Registered Roadworthy Car
  3. Current Driver’s Licence
  4. A current (obtained within the last six months) National Police Clearance. This is an industry requirement

Ongoing training sessions are provided throughout the year, covering Manual Handling, Infection Control, CPR, Fire Safety and WH&S. Annual renewal of Certificates in these subjects are required by our Government funders.

Additional subjects are also covered at the monthly staff meetings, e.g. cultural awareness, dementia, mental health, elder abuse etc. These subjects are considered to be helpful to the worker in their role.
